East African Community ,Arusha ,Tanzania, 26th February,2021: The 21st Ordinary Meeting of the Summit of the East African Community Heads of State is set to take place virtually on Saturday, 27th February,2021.
The 21st Heads of State Summit was preceded by the 40th Ordinary Meeting of the EAC Council of Ministers, which took place from 22nd to 25th February,2021.

East African Community Headquarters, Arusha, 23rd February, 2021: The 40th Ordinary Meeting of the East African Community Council of Ministers is currently underway via hybrid (physical and virtual) means.
The four-day meeting started with the Session of Senior Officials which ends on Tuesday, 23rd February, 2021.T he session of the Coordination Committee (Permanent /Principal/Under Secretaries) is set for Wednesday, 24th February 2021 while the Ministerial Session will take place on Thursday, 25th February, 2021.
…Assembly puts on ice the proposed legislation, set to re-introduce it afresh
East African Legislative Assembly, Arusha, February 12th 2021: Following numerous concerns raised by various stakeholders, EALA has today withdrawn the EAC Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) Bill, 2017, paving way for the Committee on General Purpose to re-draft the said legislation afresh.
The House approved a Report of the Committee on General Purpose, presented by the Chair, Hon. Denis Namara, putting on ice - the said legislation, until such time, a fresh Bill that incorporates various views and concerns of stakeholders, is re-drafted.
