42nd Extra-Ordinary Meeting of the EAC Council of Ministers to take place virtually, 6th - 7th May

East African Community Headquarters, Arusha, 5th May, 2021: 42nd Extra-ordinary meeting of the EAC Council of Ministers is expected to take place from 6th - 7th May, 2021 via virtual means.

The two-day meeting will start with the session of Senior Officials and session of the Coordination Committee (Permanent /Principal/Under Secretaries) on Thursday 6th May, 2021 while the Ministerial Session will be held on Friday 7th May, 2021.

The meeting is expected consider several matters geared towards deepening and widening the regional integration agenda that include the report of the Audit Commission on the East African Community Financial Statement for financial year 2018/2019; recruitment of staff and the role of the Ad-hoc Service Commission as well as outstanding payments to East African Legislative Assembly Members.

The EAC Council of Ministers is the Policy Organ of the Community and consists of the Ministers responsible for the East African Community Affairs of each Partner State and such other Ministers of the Partner States as each Partner State may determine.

Among its functions, the Council promotes, monitors and keeps under constant review the implementation of the Programmes of the Community and ensures the proper functioning of the regional organization.
