USA, Brazil, South African and Slovakia Ambassadors' present Letters of Credence to EAC Secretary General

East African Community Secretariat, Arusha, Tanzania, 16th May, 2023: The EAC Secretary General Hon (Dr.) Peter Mathuki received four Ambassadors at the EAC Secretariat in Arusha, Tanzania who presented letters of credence.

The USA Ambassador to the United Republic of Tanzania and the EAC, H.E Michael Battle, presented his letter of credence to Dr.Mathuki, who hailed the USA for being a strategic ally to the EAC as they deliberated on strengthening cooperation.

The Secretary General shared with him the status of regional integration; detailing the latest in the efforts in the restoration of peace and security in Eastern DRC. Amb. Battle reiterated the USA's commitment to supporting the Community.

The Principals deliberated on areas of mutual interest to strengthen the economic integration of the region. Further, Amb. Nogueira reiterated his country’s commitment to supporting the region’s programs and activities.

Brazil is a strategic partner to the EAC ; investing recently in infrastructure development.

South Africa’s High Commissioner to Tanzania and the EAC, H.E Noluthando Mayende-Malepe, presents her letter of credence to EAC Secretary General Hon (Dr.) Peter Mathuki.

Amb. Noluthando briefed the Secretary General on the latest in the region. They deliberated on areas of mutual interest to develop the region & continent at large. South Africa has been a long-standing partner of the EAC.

The Secretary General briefed her on the state of the region and measures the region has l been taking to strengthen Intra- EAC trade.

Amb. Zuffa affirmed her country’s commitment to supporting the region in strengthening trade and investment through innovation transfer & knowledge-sharing.
