RE: CONDOLENCE MESSAGE ON THE DEMISE OF HON. MATHIAS KASAMBA, MEMBER OF THE EAST AFRICAN LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY
The East African Community is deeply saddened by the demise of Hon. Mathias Kasamba, Member of the East African Legislative Assembly, which occurred on Tuesday, 27th April, 2021 at Nakasero Hospital in Kampala, Uganda.
A highly articulate legislator with a big heart and attention for detail, Hon. Kasamba was committed to the cause of regional integration in East Africa and beyond. Hon. Kasamba served as an MP in the Parliament of Uganda before being elected to the East African Legislative Assembly in December 2017. He acquitted himself diligently in both roles.
Hon. Kasamba had a sense of humour, was open-minded and diplomatic in addition to being a consummate lawmaker and debater who was always ready to accommodate the views of others.
In the passing on of Hon. Kasamba, the Community has lost a mentor, adviser and intellectual who provided guidance and advice whenever called upon to do so.
On behalf of the EAC and on my own behalf, I offer my thoughts, prayers and well wishes to you, and through you to: the family, relatives and friends of Hon. Kasamba; the Government, and; the people of Uganda.
MAY GOD REST THE SOUL OF HON. KASAMBA IN ETERNAL PEACE!
