RE: CONDOLENCE MESSAGE ON THE DEATH OF MR. JACOB MEME IKILENYA
The East African Community Secretariat has received with great shock and disbelief the sad news of the sudden death of its Senior System Analyst, Mr. Jacob Meme Ikilenya, at the Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya on Tuesday, 16th July, 2019.
Jacob, who joined the Community on 27th February, 2005 was due to exit the Community at the end of February next year. In the 14 years during which Jacob worked at the Secretariat, he approached his duties with diligence and dedication.
In the 2007/2008 Financial Year, Jacob was instrumental in assisting the Lake Victoria Basin Commission, an institution of the Community, establish its Information Technology (IT) infrastructure when the Commission moved from Arusha to Kisumu, Kenya in 2007.
The EAC has therefore lost a committed officer who always did his best to see that its IT systems were working at their best.
On behalf of the entire Community and on my own behalf, I hereby convey my heartfelt condolences to the family, relatives and friends of the late Jacob Ikilenya.
MAY THE ALMIGHTY GOD REST HIS SOUL IN ETERNAL PEACE.
