JEAN CLAUDE NSENGIYUMVA

The 10th Ordinary Summit of the East African Community Heads of State meeting in Arusha on 29 April 2009, appointed Jean Claude Nsengiyumva Deputy Secretary General of the East African Community (Productive and Social Sectors).

Mr Nsengiyumva (Burundi, born 31 October, 1973) brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new position, having been involved with establishments such as the American Express Bank of Canada, where he was Team Leader in the Corporate and Federal Government of Canada department (April 2003 - May 2008).

Between January 2002 and April 2003, he worked with HP Canada (Mississauga, Ontario) and prior to that worked with Total Credit Recovery in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada.

Mr Nsengiyumva holds a BA Marketing degree from the Wardolf University College, Dar Campus, Tanzania, and a diploma in Social Sciences from the National University of Rwanda. He is married.
