From Burundi’s Karera Falls to Kenya’s Tsavo, the Nyungwe Forest in Rwanda to the Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, or the Source of the Nile up north in Uganda, East Africa is a traveller’s dream turned into reality.
When the East African wild, comprising fluorescent flora and amazing fauna, engages in its perpetual beauty contest, YOU, the consumer of such unrivalled splendour, are the guaranteed winner.
When the subject is mountains, East Africa is first among equals. Why, it is the travel destination that boasts names as famed as the Kilimanjaro, Mt. Kenya and Rwenzori. Enough said!
From the Karera to the Murchison to the Sipi, East Africa is dripping with falls. For lack of sufficient superlatives, we choose to describe them as fascinating. They are certainly that and more.
Pristine might be a word clichéd when the talk is of beaches, but East Africa’s really are. If you take time to savour the region’s beautiful seaside – and you should – you can be sure to leave smitten.
East Africans love their fun. Little wonder the year is filled with one fun event after the other; musical fetes, cultural extravaganzas, exhibitions… If events make your day, there’s enough to make your year.
It matters little which corner of the region you land, you’ll find people in love with their food: Luwombo, Ugali, Nyama Choma… When you’ve had your fill, you won’t be asking why.
