ii) Identification of priority areas to be targeted for resource mobilisation and map out the key donors that support specific integration programmes within the Eastern and Southern Africa Region
iii) Development of regulations for mobilising donor resources
iv) Development of instruments for mobilising donor resources
v) Development of an EAC management structure and reporting channels to be used in accessing donor-resources
vi) Establish a process for implementation of the strategy

Implementation Status

Data collection and consultations were held by the consultants in all Partner States and regional organisations (i.e. IGAD, COMESA, AU and SADC). An Inception Report was submitted to the Secretariat in March 2010 and a stakeholder’s consultative workshop is scheduled for July 2010.

The consultants hired to conduct the study are expected to submit a Final Draft Report on the EAC Resource Mobilisation Strategy and present a Business Plan of the Strategy. The consultancy is expected to be completed in the first quarter of the FY 2010/2011.
