In regards to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women that fell on the 25^th November 2009, The EALA 72^nd Sitting held on the 17^th November 2009 adopted a resolution for the Assembly to urge the EAST African Community and Partner States to take urgent and concerted action to end violence against Women in the EAC region and Particular Partner States.
